The American Legion is a federally chartered Veterans Organization created in 1919 for the purpose to assist veterans from the "Great War", World War I, and to assist their widows and children left behind. Since then The American Legion has created programs to this end. "The Legion" also was instrumental in creating the original "G.I. Bill of Rights". Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families as embodied in our preamble below.
